Park Ridge Police Reserve

 

The Park Ridge Police Reserve have served the community of Park Ridge since 1950, assisting the regular Police Department in all phases of police work.  Working under the guidelines of the New Jersey State Office of Emergency Management , the men and women of the Reserves regularly provide traffic and crowd control at civic, school, and sporting events.  The Reserves also assist at all types of emergencies such as major fires, accidents, severe storms, and any other time they are needed.

Each member must attend the Bergen County Police and Fire Academy Auxiliary Police class as well as maintain a minimum of 8 hours a month on duty.  If you are interested in becoming a member, contact the Reserves for an application:


 Membership Qualifications:

In order to qualify for membership you must:

 

1)                  Be a citizen of the Unites States

2)                  Be & remain a resident of Park Ridge or a resident of a municipality within 5 miles of the border, provided that no auxiliary program exists in that municipality.

3)                  Be at least eighteen years of age.

4)                  Be in good physical and mental health.

5)                  Be at least a high school graduate.

6)                  Not have a criminal record or unsatisfactory driving record.

7)                  Agree to and successfully complete the next police auxiliary academy class prior to assignment to active duty.

8)                  Be willing to take orders from superior officers in the line of duty.

9)         Exhibit an honest interest in police work as a civic responsibility.
